BIG NEWS!!!

Just wanted to let all my friends in blog-world know the big news!
We are expecting a new baby in February, on Valentine's Day!!!
My family and I are very excited and hoping for a girl this time,
although having a third boy would be fun, too! I have already found
so much cute baby stuff on Etsy.com that I want to buy, so I guess
that means I better get busy selling!!!!!

My shop has a new name!!! Finally!

Well, after several weeks of contemplation and planning, I finally have changed the name of my Etsy shop and am slowly changing everything else over to FUNKY JUNK by Andrea Evans Design. I really, really hope this isn't going to be too confusing for those who have known me for the last several months as Andrea Evans Design...which is why I am still keeping my name partially in the title. I just needed a name that "fit" better with my merchandise, especially since I will soon be doing some local craft shows. (That way, if I make a total fool of myself, at least I will be somewhat anonymous! Ha!) Everyone let me know what you think!

I would like to thank my friend Julie at http://www.NeedfulThings.etsy.com for fixing up my old banner she made me to reflect my new shop name! I think it fits my look perfectly which is why I only wanted to change the name on it! She is lightning fast and great to work with...especially when you're a pain in the neck perfectionist like me! Go check out her stuff when you get a chance!

I'd like everyone to meet another one of my fellow EtsyMoms...Jodi of Happy House Quilts. She creates quilted accessories...her Coffee Quilts(tm) are ingenious! She is such a creative lady and I admire her for being able to create her art, inspire others, AND raise 3 small kids all at the same time! I just don't know how she does all she does! Here is more about her...in her own words:

Who are you?I am a SAHM to 3 beautiful kids, wife, Art Therapist and designer. My name is Jodi

What do you craft? I craft little quilt inspired items. Hair Quilts(tm), Coffee Quilts(tm), and Ruff Quilts (tm), and also try to design practical and fashionable items for daily life.

Why do you do this? I am addicted to my sewing machine and I need to create to keep my sanity!

What do you love about your craft? I love how I find my inner self and feel centered when I have completed a project.

What is your favorite items to make? Why? OOAK art pieces, they reflect what I am feeling at the time and it allows me to release what's inside.

What makes you stand our from everyone else? I think I have my own distinct artistic style in my art pieces. I think I also like to see win-win situations and help others in my own quest to succeed.

Tell me something interesting about yourself...I'm an adoptee.

Where can I find you? (myspace, blogs, etc) http://happyhousequilts.blogspot.com/

It's raining, it's pouring!

It is storming pretty bad here today, so I can't get outside to take pictures, therefore, I can't list new items in my shop. Oh, well, that gives me time to be on the computer (hopefully the electricity won't go out!) and to work on some other things. Maybe it will be pretty tomorrow and I will have a whole bunch of pretty things to take pictures of. I have lots of things to make over the next few weeks for my upcoming show, and I will be listing them in my Etsy shop, also, as I get the time.
Have a good day everyone!
Andrea

RockerChic.etsy.com (Rockerchic's Originals)

I'd like to introduce ya'll to one of my fellow Etsy sellers, who is also the owner of our CafeMom group Etsy Moms that I am an admin of. Her name is Rockerchic and she makes the most adorable little girl dresses! All the little dresses are modeled by her cute-as-a-button daughter... her designs are sugar and spice with a punk-rock edginess to them. Just seeing all the new things she creates makes me want a little girl sooo bad! Here's a little bit about her...in her own words.

Who are you? I am Rockerchic, or Kristie, or Kricket for that matter!

What do you craft? I love sewing punk dresses for the little ones!

I make fun jewelry for women, but the dresses are my passion!

Why do you do this? I think it's extremely important to teach children individuality from a young age. And I love seeing the lil'sprouts express themselves!

What do you love about your craft? Self Expression, for the ones who wear my items, buy my items, and myself. I make all my patterns, I match all my fabrics. My best items are usually just mistakes!

What is your favorite item to make? Why? Definately the clothing. I love pouring myself into something. And when I recieve that positive feedback, or see a pic of someone's beautiful child wearing my dresses... it makes it all worth while!

What makes you stand our from everyone else? Honestly, I haven't seen anyone with my particular items b/c like I said previously, I make all my patterns. So, if you buy a Rockerchic's Original... it is for sure, definately, an ORIGINAL!

Tell me something interesting about yourself... I wish I had a pet llama!

What I've been up to lately...

A LOT! I know I haven't posted anything new to my Etsy shop lately, but for good reason. I have been so busy with custom orders for crosses and signs, and also making things to sell at a local gift&flower shop/garden center. I have been making lots of vintage silverware windchimes and barnwood garden signs for the garden center and crosses for the gift shop, which will be featured in a section of the shop containing work by various Mississippi artists. I am really excited about it and can't wait to see my stuff displayed! I especially can't wait to see it being sold!!! I will take a picture of my display soon and post it on here.
Well, I gotta get back to work...lots of stuff to make. The sooner I get through, the sooner I can list some new stuff in my Etsy shop!

Wickedly Chic

Hey ya'll. Check this out when you get a chance...I was featured today on the shopping site, Wickedly Chic! They featured one of my painted baby door signs! I was sooo excited about this...it's a really big deal to me that they randomly chose one of my little signs! So, thanks to the girls at WC. Now go look at it...it's the second featured item (under May 24th) on the page.

New Stuff in the Works!!!

Hey everyone! I have lots of new stuff in the works this week. Be on the lookout for new merchandise in my shop! I have been working on some new windchimes, new paintings, new magnets, and some fabulous "funky junk" (more to come soon about that!).
I have lots of ideas in my head right now, just not enough time in my day to get everything done! My big kid just got out of school and my little one is wild as ever, so I have to grab moments to work when I get a chance. Having a clean, organized studio helps tremendously...makes me want to get in there and create! I did just place an order for some supplies today, so I am excited about that, since I already have plans for what I bought. Anyway, enough of all that for today...thanks for visiting! Talk to you soon! Andrea

Custom Work

Just wanted to let everyone know how much I enjoy custom orders. It's more challenging for me, trying to find the perfect materials, the right colors, etc. So if you need something in my shoppe, but in a different size, color, or whatever, don't be too shy to just ask me! I do my beaded crosses in sizes ranging from 4" tall up to 12" tall. Just let me know what you need and I will give you a price quote asap. Thanks for reading my random thoughts! Andrea
